CSC 191A (1h) – (January 16 through March 5)
PHP - Introduction to PHP programming in the Linux environment and its use in dynamic web page implementation. The course will cover the necessary techniques for developing dynamic web pages using the PHP scripting language. Students must have prior knowledge of a high-level programming language (C, C++, Java, etc.).
CSC 191B (1h) – (January 16 through March 5)
MATLAB for Everyone - Introduction to programming and problem solving in the MATLAB language. MATLAB is a high-level, interactive language and environment that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with programming languages such as Java and C++. No prior knowledge assumed.
CSC 191C (1h) – (March 17 through April 30)
PHP and MySQL with Web Applications - This course will cover the practical concepts of databases and dynamic web publishing. Students will learn the basics of database design and create a database which will be the basis for a project. The project will involve creation of a dynamic web site using PHP as the scripting language.
CSC 191D (1h) – (March 17 through April 30)
Exploring C# - An exploration of the C# programming language and the .NET framework. Recommended for students with some prior knowledge of programming in a high-level language.
CSC 191E (1h) – (January 16 through March 5)
Digital Sound - This course will introduce students to digital sound production for music and theatre. Students will learn about software tools for digital audio editing and MIDI processing as well as microphone and speaker technologies . They will produce audio backdrops for scenes in plays as well as record music and master it for CD production.
