Chroma Keying for Digital Video

Greenscreening is commonly used in video production  for  removing the background of objects and placing a new background behind them.  Greenscreening is an example of chroma keying, a color-removal method based on identifying neighboring pixels of the same color within a certain tolerance.  Chroma keying can be accomplished in a variety of ways:  HLS-based methods,  color difference keying, and the primate method, for example.  This research will involve implementing different chroma keying methods and analyzing their effectiveness on different types of video frames.  See Section 7.3.5.3 of http://www.cs.wfu.edu/%7Eburg/nsf-due-0340969/textbased/Chapter7CS.pdf for more information.
